Vodafone Idea’s (Vi) net loss narrowed by 6.6 per cent to ₹7,166 crore in the fourth quarter of FY25. Revenue from operations grew 3.8 per cent annually to ₹11,013 crore in Q4FY25, while the EBITDA margin remained flat at 42.3 per cent.
Sequentially, the loss widened by 8.4 per cent, largely due to higher finance costs and lower service revenue, while revenue from operations declined marginally by .9 per cent.
Average revenue per user (ARPU) grew 12.3 per cent annually and remained flat sequentially to ₹164. However, the subscriber base declined by 14.4 million users or 6.7 per cent annually. Sequentially, too, the subscriber base declined by 1.6 million subscribers.
The debt from banks reduced from ₹4,040 crore in March 2024 to ₹2,330 crore in March 2025. The cash and bank balance stood at ₹9,930 crore as of March 31, 2025.
4G population coverage increased 6-83 per cent as of March 2025, 4G data capacity increased by 31 per cent and 4G speeds increased by around 28 per cent. The 4G subscriber base stood at 126.4 million at the end of Q4FY25.
Akshaya Moondra, CEO of Vi, said, “This has been a turnaround quarter for us, marked by the highest average daily revenue in the past five years and a significant reduction in subscriber loss. Early indicators show improvement across key business metrics and with our ongoing investments, we are well placed to effectively participate in the growth opportunity offered by the Industry…We remain engaged with lenders to secure debt financing to support our broader capex plans of ₹500–550 billion.”
During the year, Vi raised equity of around ₹61,400 crore , including FPO of ₹18,000 crore, preferential issue of ₹4,000 crore to promoters (Aditya Birla Group ₹2,100 crore and Vodafone Group ₹1,900 crore) ₹2,500 crore to vendors (Nokia and Ericsson) and ₹36,900 crore to the Government of India.
