AI is expanding across all areas of media and entertainment owing to its ability to offer more personalised experiences, said Richard Kerris, Vice President at NVIDIA during the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai.
“What that brings us to the consumer is the ability to have a highly personalized experience, in the way it’s delivered, transforming content, whether it’s through language translations or reformatting the video. Lots of people watch their videos on mobile devices. AI can help transform a 16:9 ratio feature film while maintaining the continuity of the characters within those clips,” said Gerris.
Further, AI provides data to viewers in real-time entertainment, and contributes areas of ad tech by personalising advertisements.
He also talked about HoloScan for Media, NVIDIA’s latest platform specifically for the broadcast and live entertainment space where dedicated hardware for live events can be transformed into software that is configurable on the fly.
Various components
Kerris also talked about NVIDIA Inference Microservices (NIMS) that take various components of SDK-like technologies, and store it as a microservice for developers.
“These microservices can then be pieced together to create what we call a blueprint that allows you to bring together multiple NIMS and put them together in a deliverable for a particular use that you’re doing. That means connecting different microservices, making it easier for the developer to harness powerful AI technologies,” said Kerris.
